Both Plano-based JCPenney and Fort Worth Independent are hosting job fairs this week, hoping to hire more than 10,000 people.

JCPenney is preparing for the holiday season by hiring more than 10,000 seasonal associates across all locations nationwide, a press release stated. Among the company’s incentives are:

  • Flexible schedules:
    • JCPenney is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day
    • Shift flexibility to support work-life balance
  • Career advancement opportunities:
    • Seasonal associates have the opportunity for continued employment and advancement post-holiday
  • Great associate discount:
    • All associates will receive an employee-discount of up to 25 percent off any purchase

JCPenney also offers unlimited referral bonuses, an inclusive team environment, associate recognition, and in-home daycare concierge services, the release stated.

“Our seasonal associates play a critical role in making the holidays memorable for our customers,” stated Andre Joyner, chief human resources officer for JCPenney, in the release.
