Carrollton-based Expo Home Improvement will host a food drive tomorrow through Saturday to benefit Christian Community Action, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing homelessness and addressing food insecurity for Denton County residents. 

As families throughout the community prepare for Thanksgiving, the public may donate nonperishable food items, including peanut butter, cereal, macaroni and cheese and canned goods, to help ensure neighbors in need have enough to eat this holiday season. 

Drop off items at Expo Home Improvement’s office on Lacy Lane in Carrollton, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and Friday. Additionally, Cerulean Blue Coffee House at Parker Square in Flower Mound will accept donations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.


To commemorate its annual Season of Giving, Westlake-based Charles Schwab‘s employees packed and donated nearly one million meals to families in need across the United States.

Thousands of Charles Schwab employee volunteers across 13 U.S. cities came together to pack nutritious meals that will be distributed to families within their local communities. Charles Schwab Foundation also donated $300,000 to local food banks and nonprofits focused on hunger relief in the communities where Charles Schwab employees live and work, a company press release stated.

They volunteered more than 6,000 hours to give back to their communities. In addition to meal-packing events, employees hosted in-office drives and volunteer events to maximize outreach and impact.

To coordinate packaged meal donations, Charles Schwab partnered with Harvest Pack, a humanitarian hunger relief nonprofit.


Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership announced the hiring of Chelsea Griffith as vice president of investor relations and announced a $500,000 gift from Leo Potishman Foundation. Fort Worth EDP has secured $3 million to date and is aggressively working toward its $5 million annual goal, Fort Worth EDP’s press release stated.

The $500,000 gift to Fort Worth EDP comes from the Leo Potishman Foundation, named for a longtime Fort Worth businessman and philanthropist.


Clay Cooley Auto Group, known for automotive services throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, acquired Don Davis Nissan in Arlington. Separate releases also announced the group acquired Don Davis Ford, renaming it Clay Cooley Ford; and Don Davis Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, renaming it Clay Cooley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.


Dairy Max, a leading regional dairy council representing more than 900 dairy farmers across eight states, announced Keira Lombardo of Southlake is its new chief executive officer. She starts work on Dec. 2 and replaces Mike Konkle, who is retiring after serving as CEO since 2007.
